About
The Koox design company was established by the designer Martin Hercik in 2002, with its domicile in Prague. At that time, as a company emloyee he was involved in the production of paragliding accessories. He was responsible for the prototype development of the seat and its safety. In 2002 Vltava river overflooded a part of the town including the site where Mr.Hercik and his company were working. All people from that area had to be evacuated and for one month the access to the area was not possible. Fortunately, thanks to the location of the company on the first floor it did not suffer any losses. The flood water stopped at the company's door treshhold reaching its culmination point there. While the water element was devastating a part of the town, an idea to produce something useful was born in Martin Hercik's head. No matter what it was supposed to be - most importantly, something was meant to fill up his free time. He found the backgroud for that with his father who was producing rustproof constructions for rendering plants. Martin's first produced design was an armchair named Rossa as a part of a flat's furniture. Martin's enthusiasm about designing made him carry on this creative activity after resuming his job, too. Gradually other chairs, interior accessoirs to order and guitar case designs of his came into existence. Finally, he decided to go on the market with his products. He found great inspiration with several design studios as in his opinion the designers' creativity has much more space there compared to mass production, which has to conform to strict market requirements. Martin says: "I have always wanted to link these two seemingly incongruous areas with each other because there are too many run-of-the-mill things around us." In 2005 he started to sell notebook bags with the make Sebastian Ross, after two years he became the main notebook bag supplier of the Educanet private school network. Nevertheless, he felt that there were much bigger design development opportunities than he had taken up so far. New technologies have always been a big challenge for him. His new design field became the bag as such - he advanced and transformed it into the bag of the 21st century...

Bug Hides everything under the shell. When you are pushing your limits, climbing that rock you never thought you could, or squeezing everything out of your motorcycle to see how fast it will go, enjoy the moment and don't worry about luggage. It is safe in the Bug. Its 3mm thick plastic shell protects both you and your possessions. Its aerodynamic shape and light weight let you save your energy to do the things you love. This is our idea of the 21st century bag. From the first draft up to the final product 12 months elapsed. Its development included unbelievably many hours spent with trying and testing suitable technologies. We are proud of what we are able to deliver. The basic idea of the whole project was 'Build your own Bag!' As the bag contains paintable plastic parts, it is possible to approach each bag's design individually. It is just up to your imagination which colours or colour combinations you prefer. We are also able to make metalic paints, alternatively the airbrush. Join our family of Bugs!
